My Disney buys this Month, things I keep in my Cave of Wonders

I haven't done a blog in quite a few weeks and that's mainly because I was away in Cork for one of those weeks, with my partner, my sister, her partner and my little baby nephew. Another reason is that I've recently enrolled online in an Event Management course which will keep me busy for several months now. Having said that I have spent the past few weeks shopping around for my Disney bits and bobs at every opportunity. On our trip with went to Penneys (Primark in the UK) which I had been anticipating would have some amazing Disney merchandise. This is purely because most of the UK based Disney fan accounts I've followed on instagram have some amazing Disney things such as Ursula's black handbag and The Little Mermaid accessories of all kinds. Unfortunately the selection in the Penneys I was at wasn't great but I did use my trusty Disney senses to sniff out a few cute little items. These included two night shirts, one with Marie from the Aristocats on it and one with Minnie Mouse on it in a retro style that reminds me of ones I wore in the 90s as a kid. I also bought a pack of Disney villain socks which were probably my favourite purchase there, they have all the usual suspects on them, Ursula, The Evil Queen and Maleficent in pink and silver. I got a pack of three pop socks to wear with flats and pomps that have Ariel, Flounder and Sebastian on them and they are really cool! Lastly I picked up a multicoloured Disney princess pen while I was queuing up to pay, impulse purchasing always works when it comes to Disney. I have to say I was incredibly disappointed with the lack of Disney things in Penneys. Afterall they are owned by the same people as Primark in England so I'm really not certain of why we wouldn't have the same huge Disney selection. I'll be going to another Penneys in Dublin over the summer so perhaps I'll find more things there that I can post about. The material used in the nightshirts is the same as any other cheapish night shirt but I imagine it will last a long time as others I've bought there have, they cost €7 each. The socks costs €3.50 for the pack of 3 and the pop socks were €3.50, the pen cost €1.50 so all in all, less than 15 quid for all that stuff is pretty great!

While on the trip we stopped off in a little town called Youghal for dinner the final day. A very old fashioned Irish main street that contained quite a lot of charity/thrift stores so I knew I was bound to find at least one Disney gem in among the rest of the nick nacks and little did I know it would be something I'd been searching for for a long time. The Disney version of Scene It? I had wanted to get either the Disney version of that or trivial pursuit but I could never justify on my budget paying €40 for them! So I was over the moon when I came across this in absolutely perfect condition for just €3, talk about a deal! We played it the second we got home from the trip and it's lots of fun, I would definitely suggest Disney buffs or even movie buffs to invest in it or find it online for a cheaper price, well worth it for the hours of fun.

There's a website called Qwertee.com which I believe is Irish and it does usually one or two specific t-shirts a day for €11.00 with a €2.50 delivery fee. The t-shirts are often very unique designs involving pop culture and that includes of course Disney. The one I got my boyfriend before our trip was a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 design that I absolutely had to get! Anybody that watched the film will no doubt recognize the scene it represents with my favourite line in the film. He was really excited about receiving it and threw it on the moment we found it in the post box. My partner is 6'5 and quite broad shouldered so he got an XL in the t-shirt which I would recommend unless you're quite thin. They also do women's sizes so if you follow them on facebook, instagram etc... you're bound to come across the odd Disney design every once in a while.



The last of my Disney related finds this month are three awesome little bits I came across in some charity shops yesterday while having a stroll up the main street. The first thing I bought I caught sight of out of the corner of my eye, afterall no Disney item can escape and uber fan as we all know. It was a tiny little blue Disney box with a sweet little Daisy Duck keychain on the inside with a tiny frame for a little photograph to fit into. I'm not sure where they keyring was originally from but it looks like perhaps Disneyland itself! and it only cost €1 and is completely unused. I then on the off chance went into a different charity shop and was delighted to find a 101 Dalmations clothes hanger that can be attached to a wall, my sister happens to have two 101 Dalmations photos on my nephew's bedroom wall so I had to pick that up to go along with them. It only cost €2 and was in great conditions, also looked unused completely. Finally I got myself a Cinderella 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. I have seen quite a few of the kind in charity shops before but this one was brand new and really pretty so I thought what the heck. I have to say, it's really tough! Perhaps it's because I  haven't done puzzles in a long time but holy moly, they definitely keep you occupied.

My Disney Buys This Month, I've got Whozits and Whatzits galore

Every month, well if I'm being honest every week....okay every single day! I am on the lookout for something Disney that I can add to me growing collection. I just wanted to share with you the things I got this past few weeks. I purchased a few lovely little things that I'm very much excited I now own. So here they are, I hope you enjoy reading about them and maybe it will inspire you to check out different spots like thrift markets, charity shops, online etc...

The first thing I bought this month was a Deep Sleep Sleeping Beauty Set from amazon. The set consists of a small tub of night time body butter, a pillow spray and a sleeping eye mask made of a satiny material. This set cost about €5.00 and I think approximately €2 for delivery. I think amazon is an amazing place to find some great Disney stuff, from Beauty products, to books, to mugs, it has such a fantastic collection and if you find the right seller, the shipping prices aren't too bad either. The pillow spray smells really nice but I haven't used it much yet, I will probably use the body butter once I run out of my moisturizer just to test it out, it seems really thick and creamy which is what I look for in all creams. My main reason for buying this set was of course the sleep mask, it is so pretty and girly. I also sometimes like getting Snow White and Sleeping Beauty items because I feel like products featuring those princesses are less common than products featuring say Belle or Rapunzel. 

I had a very bad back a week ago and a sinus infection to go along with it. My boyfriend, being the absolute doll that he is, brought me home some flowers and an Ariel Doll one day to cheer me up and boy it sure did! I love getting surprise Disney things from people and of course Ariel is my number one Disney princess. The Doll came in a box and I promised myself I was going to keep it in it but honestly, unless it's a super rare one from back years ago, I'm never going to keep it in the box. I took it out and placed it on my night stand alongside my soft Ariel doll and it looks just perfect there. It reminds me so much of the Ariel doll I owned when I was a kid. The only thing I must say I find different about the dolls from when I was little, are that their head shapes seem to be slightly larger, not that that's a bad thing, just an observation. She is wearing a gorgeous turquoise and teal coloured dress with purple and glittery detail. She also has, which for some reason are my favourite part of the doll, a little pair of clear teal coloured heels on which are just really adorable and a nice little touch. I believe you can get these dolls in Tesco and other toy shops for under €15.00

Today my boyfriend, my sister and my nephew and I decided to go to the Inch Market, which is well known for bargains and unique bits and bobs. Unfortunately the weather today was terrible and although it hadn't rained yet by the time we got to the place, it was overcast and there weren't as many stalls and sellers as there usually would be. I did manage to come across something that I was absolutely delighted with, an Ariel Musical Money Box. This was such an amazing find and I was so excited to come across it! The lady had wanted €12.00 for it but I haggled and was able to get it for €8! I recently googled it and it's being sold on ebay for over €30.00! talk about a deal! It's such a charming little item to have in a collection, when you press the front button it lights up and sings a verse from "Part of your world" how lovely is that?

The last two Disney things I got this month were beauty related items. Today we went into a store called Dealz after the market. I guess from what I've seen online, it's kind of like a Dollar Tree Store that Americans would have. It has loads of Disney related things for both adults and kids alike. I always look for beauty and household finds and deals in there. Today I picked up along with some normal beauty products, a Beauty and the Beast shampoo and conditioner. The reason I decided to buy it is mainly because the picture looks so much like how the characters do in the movie and that's not always the case when it comes to some of these bottles and products. I will likely only use it as decoration in my bathroom because it looks so sweet. It cost only €1.50. I also picked up a tinkerbell emery board set too. It's a trio of them with the little pixie adorably displayed all over them. I will likely use these as I've used Minnie Mouse ones I got there before and I found them to be great and then I will use them as decoration after I've gotten my use of them. They cost €1.50 also. I really encourage anybody who will only collect Disney things online to give their local shops, markets etc... a chance because honestly, they are just filled with so many Disney treasures

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 Review

In 2009 Walt Disney Studios basically purchased Marvel Studios for $4 Billion. I can completely understand why they did it. Marvel movies are arguably the most lucrative movies in the world right now and in my own humble opinion, that's not always with good reason. Don't get me wrong, I can sit through and usually enjoy a popcorn superhero flick. That said, some of the most recent ones such as Dr. Strange and Ant-Man have been so predictable and at times boring that I find myself waiting for the movie to be over and the hero to either win or win out for the time being until the next sequel is rolled out. This is why, in 2014 when I went with a friend to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1 I was so unbelievably pleasantly surprised. The humour, the chemistry between the characters, how diverse the characters are, the great use of special effects and the truly amazing soundtrack (I still can't get "Come and Get Your Love" out of my head!) combined so well to make a perfectly entertaining box office smash.


With all that being said, when I heard they were releasing the sequel in summer 2017 I was extremely excited. For most sequels of superhero movies I am always apprehensive that it will not live up to the first, however for some reason before seeing it, I just knew with this one they would get it right. And thank Walt Disney, they did not let me down. From start to finish this film was a wonderfully entertaining experience. The plot revolves around the rag tag group we first met in Volume 1 which is of course lead by sitcom supporting star turned full blown movie star Chris Pratt. This time the gang is being hunted by the leaders of a planet known as The Sovereign for stealing something they consider precious from them. While being chased down and having a western in space style shoot out with this nation's ships, the group are helped along by a mysterious man in a white space pod, who we discover is (and this isn't a spoiler) Peter Quill's father. I won't say anymore for fear of giving the plot twists and turns away. Suffice to say, action and excitement ensues. For me, the real shining characters in this sequel are the Vin Diesel voiced Baby Groot who is quite possibly one of the most adorable characters in movie history, as well as Michael Rooker's Yondu. He has some of the most hilarious moments in the movie (in particular a Mary Poppins reference that will be quoted by my boyfriend and I for years to come) and surprisingly, he also had some of the most emotionally effective moments. Kurt Russell was perfectly cast as Star Lord's celestial and charismatic Dad and there is an enjoyable cameo appearance from the one and only Sylvester Stallone. All of the supporting players are excellent in their roles and the true chemistry among the cast is fantastic. There are some touching moment's involving the Bradley Cooper voiced Rocket, as well as the "unspoken" romance between Quill and Gamora's characters which isn't overplayed. The battle and action sequences are very enjoyable and unlike with other Marvel productions, I never once found myself getting bored during them or finding those parts tedious to get through. The effects are marvelously done (see what I did there), I mean being completely honest I don't know much about special effects or CGI but I do know when I'm impressed by it, which I definitely was.

I think the reason I find these Guardians movies much more enjoyable than the other Marvel films such as the Avengers, is that they don't take themselves to seriously. These movies have real, non forced humour, great witty dialogue, and what I feel is a really nostalgic feel to them, helped along of course by their awesome soundtracks. I have to say, as my boyfriend mentioned it to me on our way out of the screening, the songs in this sequel aren't as memorable as the ones in the first film, but that could just be us talking, it's a completely subjective point but I personally did agree with him on that. All in all, this picture was insanely enjoyable and I think well worth a watch. It accomplished for me what so many other superhero movies have tried to but failed, a funny raucous adventure with some really touching moments, I hope the people at DC take note, that's how a great popcorn movie is done.

Book Review: The Beast Within by Serena Valentino

Just before Christmas I read Fairest of All, the back story of The Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs written by Serena Valentino. I wrote a little review on this blog regarding my thoughts about the story, and as anyone who read it may have noticed, I was less than enthused about it. Having said that I still wanted to give the author a second chance and decided to order this story along with Once Upon A Time: A Twisted Tale by Liz Braswell. I purchased both books for a super reasonable price, I believe they were each less than €8 including delivery which was brilliant. As a side note I really think amazon is a great place to find book deals, particularly if you don't mind the books being second hand.

All that being said, you would think I would have learned my lesson and not bothered reading The Beast Within, but it was a short book and the plot did intrigue me. Also I had recently read As Old As Time by Liz Braswell which I found to be a wonderful experience so I wanted to compare the backstory of another writer to that one. The plot begins with the Beast in his Prince days, before he ever encountered the enchantress and became a Beast. There are aspects to the beginning of this story, such as his relationship with Gaston that are original but also somehow don't fully work. The book goes on to give an explanation as to why the Prince was transformed into the Beast and this involves a story of a previous romance and.....the absolute worst aspect of Valentino's tale. This is the three "witch sisters" who she uses rather unimaginatively as the exposition in both this book and similarly in Fairest of All. They for me are the worst part of it and the least enjoyable to read about. The plot continues into the Prince's slow and painful decline into the Beast as well as the castle's descent into being enchanted too. The character of the Prince I have to say is absolutely horrendous. He is made to be a sexist, elitist and just vile person by the author throughout. This makes it very difficult for us as the reader to ever believe he could change as a person as dramatically as he does. The final part of the book is pretty much just the original story with those three witch sisters placed conveniently and rather irritatingly throughout the final chapters.

All in all this book was about a 2.5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed parts of it, in particular the very beginning chapter which appeared promising and the attempt at real originality. That being said, there was just far too much mention of those three sisters and another love interest plot that I found slightly tedious to read about. Serena's writing style can also be very repetitive and when you compare it with that of Liz Braswell's you can see the lack of real writing experience and creativity. However, I would recommend this book if you are interested in seeing a back story to the Beast and some of the other characters in the plot, I would say if you were only going to pick one of those books to read, I would definitely suggest Liz Braswell's As Old As Time out of the two. I will most likely read Valentino's final book "Poor Unfortunate Soul", mainly because I have read that it's the best in her series and also because I am intrigued to see what kind of story she came up with for Ursula. I hope this review was helpful for anyone interested in The Beast Within and maybe they'll give it a shot and see how they feel about it. So go get a dreamy far off look and your nose stuck in a book

The Art of Mary Blair

When I was a teenager, probably about 14 my sister was living in Cardiff in Wales to get her degree. One of the perks of this situation was that she lived very close to the city's Disney store! I had never been to a Disney store before and the one in Dublin would not open up for another 6 years. With that being said you can imagine my excitement at the thought of her living so close and my extreme delight when she would arrive back for a visit with gifts from the store for me! On one of these visits she brought me home a Special Edition 2 Disc DVD of Cinderella. A movie that always reminds me of her as it was her favourite Disney classic growing up, she wouldn't always watch Disney with me as she was 5 years older than me but whenever Cinderella was on she was more than happy to, which I loved.

I had gotten really into the animation of Disney around that time, especially people like the Nine Old Men and how they came up with the fantastic characters and masterpiece background designs they created over the years. So, I was so happy when I discovered that there was a Behind the Scenes documentary on Mary Blair. A lady I had never heard of but immediately upon seeing the Disney work she did, I realized I may not have known her face but I was more than familiar with her legacy. The documentary went on to tell of her influence on the animation of such 1950s Disney classics as Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty and of course Cinderella and of the lasting impression she would have on all future animators and imagineers and the stories they would work on in the years to come.

Mary Blair was born in 1911 in McAlester Oklahoma U.S. As a child she showed an immense interest in art, drawing her own little comic books while at school to entertain her family and fellow classmates. At the age of 20 Mary won a scholarship to the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles where she moved to and attended the institute alongside her brother-in-law Preston Blair. In the early 1930's, Mary began working as a colourist and animator at MGM for a short period, she became well known among her fellow animators for her wonderful use of colour in her work. Following her few years at MGM, Mary interviewed at and landed (luckily for all of us) a job in the animation department at The Walt Disney Company in 1940 and thus her fairy tale began. Walt is said to have adored her innovative style and use of bright dramatic colours and so he decided she should take part in the animation of the studios "good will" South America inspired productions of Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros as an art supervisor. She then went on to do some of her best and most inspiring work on the concept artwork for several of the company's best features including, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. Towards the mid 1950's Mary left her work at Disney and became an artist, graphic designer, and illustrator for the advertisements of many major companies including Maxwell House and Nabisco during the height of 1960's advertising. Several years after Disneyland had opened, Walt Disney wanted to create a ride in which visitors to his magical land would be able to be treated to a whimsical and magical trip through several of the world's countries including Japan, Sweden and Brazil. He of course recruited the help and artistry of Mary Blair to achieve this dream. She created murals representing each country in a colourful and exciting way as well as animatronic puppets that donned garments representational of their respective country. Each country was unique and had that signature Mary Blair touch. The ride went on to be called "It's a Small World After all" and it featured a song of the same name that is etched into the memory of all visitors of the ride. Mary then moved back to California where she continued to work on her art and had a gallery. She passed away in 1978 at the age of 66 from a cerebral hemorrhage. In 1991 she was more than deservedly made a Disney Legend and her work was celebrated and has been since her passing by the studio.

Mary Blair's work for me is so important because it signifies a change in the type of animation Disney did and it completely represents the studios innovative ways of adopting new styles and ideas. Her use of colour and very modernist styles particularly in concept art for Alice in Wonderland is beautiful to look at. One scene that was mentioned in the Cinderella documentary I referred to before was the scene in which the stepsisters rip Cinderella's pink dress from her when she tries to attend the ball with them. The colour of the background of the scene changes gradually to a wild jungle red as the sister's behaviour becomes more violent. This was described in the documentary as "pure Mary Blair". Only a fantastic story teller and imaginative animator would come up with such a fantastic approach to art and colour in a scene, which is why she was so important to Walt. I believe he saw in Mary another person who believed that animation could be seen as a real form of high art.

Disney Rabbits and Why We Love Them

What with Easter happening yesterday, I was inspired to do a little post about some of the fantastically fluffy Disney bunnies that have featured in some of our favourite movies and shows throughout the years. This is a list of my personal favourites and some reasons why I adore them so much.

Judy Hopps

Last year, along with Findy Dory and Moana, I saw the wonderful and Oscar Winning Zootopia/Zootropolis and I fell in love with the charming leading character Judy Hopps.Her postive spirit and can do attitude makes her a really great example for all little kids seeing the movie. 

Favourite Quote: "Life's a little bit messy. We all make mistakes. No matter what type of animal you are, change starts with you."

White Rabbit

To clarify, the White Rabbit I'm referring to is the original from the far superior 1951 movie not the 2010 Tim Burton "production" (which I am not a fan of at all). Inspired by the character from the Lewis Carroll children's classic, he is one of the more unusual and charming little characters from the movie. We can all relate to being flustered and late for something important whether it be work, an appointment, a date which is probably why we can relate to this little befuddled guy so well

Favourite Quote: "Oh my fur and Whiskers! I'm Late I'm Late I'm Late!"

Mother, Sis, Skippy, Tagalong and Family

I love Robin Hood, I think it's a little gem of a film with truly comedic moments between Robin Hood and Little John, real romance between he and Maid Marion and some excellent supporting characters. Several of which belong to the rabbit family of the film, consisting of the hard done by Mother Rabbit and her adorable kids. From the little toddler Tagalong with her cute teddy bear and speech impediment to Skippy the boisterous little tike who's ideal is of course Robin Hood, they are a lovely little bunch.

Rabbit 

This fella is part of one of the best and most famous Disney groups ever, The Winnie the Pooh Gang! He's probably the most highly strung of the bunch but he's also one of the most lovable because behind all of his annoyance with Pooh bear wanting all of his honey and his frustration with Tigger's garden wrecking bouncing, he's a goodhearted little soul who's glad to have all of his friends in the Hundred Acre Woods

Thumper

If I were a betting woman I'd be willing to wager that most people would immediately think of this talkative little fella when you ask them about Disney bunnies. Of course he was one of the very first in Disney film and one of the most memorable characters they had ever produced. He's Bambi's best friend and one of the trio that becomes twitterpated and falls for the an adorable little blonde bunny which makes for one of the funniest and cutest moments in Disney history.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Walt Disney's predecessor to the Iconic Mickey, he may not be as well known and he may have been taken away from Walt during a bad time in his early career, but that doesn't take away from the influence the little guy had on Disney history. I recently checked out some of his shorts on Youtube and I genuinely thought they were sweet and had a real charm to them. The history behind how the character was created and how he ended up being taken away from Walt and his fellow animators is really fascinating and I'd really recommend anybody interested in Walt's life to look it up. Truly engaging stuff and really shows that just because your down, doesn't always mean you're out.

My Top 15 Favourite Disney Dogs

I had to do this list, anyone who knows me knows two things about me for definite, one is that I'm a huge Disney fanatic of course, and the other is that I love animals. I have studied Animal Science, Welfare and Behaviour in the past, and my favourite animal of all time has always been dogs (but don't tell my pet cat Simba that!). Like many people, the addition of a canine companion or sidekick to any feature film or tv show is welcomed enthusiastically by me, but in particular in Disney films.

They are always animated so lovingly and perfectly detailed and they have individual and wonderful personalities, just like our real life fur babies. So for that reason I decided to make this little list of my personal favourites. The canine crusaders and pampered pooches featured in many a Disney picture that have brought me and so many others such joy over the years. Perhaps even somebody reading this list will discover a new Disney film they haven't watched yet and will be encouraged to have a watch.

15. Andrew from Mary Poppins

With his cute little jacket and ability to communicate perfectly with the practically perfect Mary Poppins, Andrew is an adorable little addition to the cast of my personal favourite film of all time.

14. Toby from The Great Mouse Detective

Toby is the namesake of my sister's dog which may be a part of the reason why I have such an affection for this investigative pooch. He has a super friendly disposition and a great way of sniffing out trouble, plus he can roll over on command

13. Max from The Little Mermaid

As Scuttle once described this fluffy puppy, "he's kinda slobbery" but he's also really cute. He's also pretty smart, after all he was the first character to suss out that Vanessa was bad news and Eric and Ariel were meant to be, what a good boy

12. Shadow and Chance from Homeward Bound (and Homeward Bound 2)

I watched this movie a couple of months ago and it brought back so many memories from my childhood and from the pets I had and loved when I was younger. Shadow and Chance may be incredibly different pups in many ways, but their ability to pull at our heart strings is one and the same

11. Stella from The Princess and the Frog

She may be a minor character in what I consider to be the last of the Disney classics, but with her big puppy dog eyes and begging for some delicious sweet treats, Stella makes a major impression on movie watchers

10. Bruno from Cinderella

Bruno is the unsung Hero of the animated version of Cinderella! He afterall, was the reason Lucifer ran away, leaving the mice with the key that would open up the attic door and let Cinderella out so that she could try on the glass slipper and go on to marry the Prince. Not to mention he helped her get to the ball by being the footman of the carriage. What a good boy!

9. Napoleon and Lafayette from The Aristocats

What a funny and clumsy pair of hounds these two are! One of the highlights of the wonderful The Aristocats for me has always been the appearance of Napoleon and Lafayette, the two snoozing hounds that try to sniff out and catch the evil Edgar as he is disposing of Duchess and the kittens. They are a classic comedy duo and they prove that not everybody wants to be a cat

8. Winston from Feast (short)

When I first saw this short, as with the majority of shorts before Disney movies, I got extremely emotional and was completely immersed in this adorable little tale of a this dog, his owner and his love for all tasty food. Although his appearance is enough to make him a lovable pooch, his love for his owner and what he does for him during this brilliant short puts his lovableness on a whole new level.

7. Dodger from Oliver and Company

With the smooth vocal stylings of a 1980s Billy Joel and a streetwise NYC attitude, Dodger is one of the most enjoyable parts of this underrated Disney classic. Add on top of that his super cute appearance and little bandana and he would make an awesome pet for any owner. I have to say, I am a big fan of all of the dogs in this film, Tito the Chihauha and Georgette the pampered poodle are also excellent characters.

6. Copper from The Fox and the Hound

This movie....oh my dear lord how this film makes me cry every damn time! It's such a little gem of a film and I always have to prepare myself emotionally to watch it. The character of Copper goes from being a little rambunctious little pup to a trained hunting dog. His friendship with Todd the fox is one of the greatest in all Disney history and one of the most heartwarming.

5. Bolt from Bolt

I am ashamed to say I only watched this movie for the first time ever a few months ago but I really really loved it. The first appearance of Bolt is absolutely one of the cutest moments in Disney movies and his animation is one of the best of any Disney dog ever. I find some parts of this movie so heart wrenching but the brave and adorable nature of it's protagonist also gives it some truly heartwarming moments too

4. Pluto from Mickey Mouse classic shorts

The original Disney dog and one of the greatest! Pluto has been a loyal sidekick to Mickey now for over 80 years, now that's a loyal companion right there! I may have a serious soft spot for him because I met him on my first ever trip to Disneyland but lets face it, no Disney dog list would be complete without this furry guy

3. Nana from Peter Pan

I have a real soft spot for old cuddly pups. There's just something so sweet about an older lazy old fluff that melts my heart and Nana definitely fits that bill. She also happens to be a fantastic carer to the three Darling children and she can rock a bonnet better than most humans!

2. Dug from Up

Dug epitomized my reaction to all dogs when I meet them "I have a just met you and I love you". He is the ultimate sweet canine companion and reminds me of so many gorgeous and friendly doggos I have met in my life. He also provides some of the best moments in the film and who wouldn't want a dog that could talk about all the unconditional love he has for you. 

1. Lady and the Tramp from Lady and the Tramp

Of course, how could it be anybody else but this darling pair. If there's ever been a cuter or more romantic couple in Disney history, I certainly haven't heard of them! Lady, the gorgeous "cockera spanish a girl" and Tramp the boisterous streetwise mutt are my personal favourite Disney couple and my favourite Disney dogs, I even have stuffed animals of them to prove it! Any owner would be lucky to have the love and companionship of these two every belle notte
